HSBC appoints a homegrown CEO for the first time in Bangladesh

Md Mahbub-ur Rahman has been appointed as chief executive officer of HSBC Bangladesh and this is for the first time in Bangladesh that HSBC has got a local CEO for its operation.

Prior to his current task, Rahman was the deputy chief executive officer for HSBC commercial banking. He was also the country head of commercial banking for HSBC in Malaysia.

Note, Rahman completed his graduation and master’s in finance from the University of Dhaka and also holds an executive MBA from Kellogg-HKUST.
